When you immerse yourself in a bath you are giving yourself hydrotherapy "water therapy." Here are the benefits of the humble bath:

Foster weight loss without working out. (Really.) A hot bath stimulates circulation and helps pump oxygen-rich blood throughout the body. This regulates insulin and mimics the effects of exercise. Better circulation also aids in lowering high blood pressure and improves diabetes while nourishing the organs and flushing toxins from the body.

Are relaxing. Obviously. And we could all benefit from more relaxation. Lower stress levels result in lower rates of illness, both major and minor.

Props A bath tray holds a glass of water or cup of herbal tea and candle or two nicely. A bath pillow or plush towel rolled behind your neck helps to create a spa-like experience.

Your favourite music to bliss out to. Salt + Soda Bath Two nights a week add 250g of Pink Himalayan Salt and 250g of Baking Soda to your bath. Sea salt is full of minerals like potassium, which balances moisture in the skin, and sulphur, a powerful agent that helps rid the body of toxins. Baking soda assists in detoxification, alkalises the body, and softens the skin.

For aches and pains add 250g of Epson Salts to your bath and soak yourself in a warm to hot bath for 20 min. The Magnesium sulphate in the Epsom salts will relax the muscles and will speed up recovery of aching and tired muscles.

Make a date with yourself to soak yourself in your bath and melt away your stresses, and just be.. You are worth it !!
